Our detailed engineers are required
to do Site Visits at specified customer locations (Central Offices) to
distinguish and order what materials are required at a particular site
and outline this information in detail for installation. They will take detailed notes and
request authorization from the planner to record the step-by-step
materials and instructions needed to process the equipment installation
e.g., (equipment location, circuit records, Work Order Specs, etc.) and
additional duties as needed.
The switchmen's duties include
day-to-day routines specified for particular Central Office locations to
insure all equipment in the office is working properly. They are also required to run jumpers
from specified office equipment to a designated cable pair (customer
phone line), which will provide the actual dial tone/DSL to a customer
home or business. They are
required to communicate efficiently with all parties involved in this
process. They are required to do
additional duties as needed.
An installer's duties include
installing Central Office Equipment to a specified customer location or
remote. They are required to do
job-site walk thru’s with the COEI
supervisor and complete and follow the specific Method Of Procedure (MOP)
for that particular work order requested.
They are required to communicate efficiently to all parties
involved in this process e.g., COEI Supervisor, Engineer and support
staff. They are required to
complete and coordinate the End of Job (EOJ) walk thru’s
